We are excited that the month of April is right around the corner. Not only because it’s one of my favorite months in general, but also because a LEGOLAND Discovery Center is opening in the Phoenix area on April 22nd. Yeah!
I previously wrote about our 1st visit to LEGOLAND California, and briefly mentioned LEGO KidsFest. I thought I’d write about our experience at LEGO KidsFest in hopes that some of you reading this will get an idea of what the KidsFest has to offer your family in case it is coming to a city near you.
Basically, KidsFest travels to different cities throughout the United States and brings with it the excitement of all things Legos 😊 Here are some of the main reasons we enjoyed the KidsFest:
The displays are out of this world
The details are simply amazing. Many of the displays were character themed, from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, to Lightning McQueen, to Buzz Lightyear and Woody. My son was especially excited to see Jake and Jake’s pirate ship, Bucky.
There are several interactive exhibits for different age ranges
We liked that there is a separate area for the preschool aged children where they can play and build with duplos.
Not only were the children able to build with duplos and Legos, but they were also able to make their own car and race it down the track.
This was one of the highlights of the day for my son.
There is another separate area where children can unwind and read books
Even the bean bags are pretty cool! My son loves storytime and looking at books, so this added to the overall experience.
My son recently started asking us for a “Lego table.” I started doing some research and while I was not able to find an official Lego table (I don’t think they sell them), I did find an inexpensive building table at Toys r Us that is perfect for his age. My husband and I surprised him with it today, and he was beaming with excitement.
I can’t wait to take him to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in April!
