Likewise, the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Paradise Pier Hotel will not reopen on July 23, 2020 as originally announced. Dates are to be determined. Hot off the presses (or web)! My favorite theme park Disneyland is reopening after shutting down in mid-March due to COVID-19. However, from the reopening dates to a reservation system, here’s what you need to know before you start packing your suitcases and heading out west to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Disneyland is Reopening - What You Need to Know
Disneyland has been closed due to COVID-19 since March 14, 2020. On June 10, 2020, Disneyland proposed plans for a phased reopening. As of right now, nothing has been approved by state and local government, but assuming it is approved, here’s what you can expect.
- Downtown Disney will reopen on July 9, 2020.
- Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will reopen on July 17, 2020.
- The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Paradise Pier Hotel will reopen on July 23, 2020.
- Disneyland will be instituting a new theme park reservation system. Under the new reservation system, all guests (including Annual Passholders) will be required to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance.
- Park hopping between Disneyland Park and California Adventure will be permitted.
- Parades and nighttime spectaculars (like fireworks) will be postponed for now and will return at a later date.
- Although character meet and greets will be temporarily unavailable, characters will still be present in Disneyland Park and California Adventure to entertain guests.
- New ticket sales and Annual Passport sales and renewals will be temporarily paused.
- All guests and Cast Members will be required to wear masks. Hand-washing stations and physical barriers will be present, where appropriate.
- Theme park capacity will be reduced to allow for physical distancing.
- All guests are required to undergo temperature checks prior to entering the theme parks or Downtown Disney. Likewise, daily temperature checks and health screenings will be required for Cast Members.
- Cashless transactions will be recommended to limit contact between guests and Cast Members.
- Parking and hours of operation may be limited.
California Adventure will likely reopen on Disney California Adventure will reopen on July 17, 2020.

What We Don’t Know So Far
- While there are reopening dates for the Grand Californian and Paradise Pier, there’s not a proposed reopening date for the Disneyland Hotel, possibly due to renovations. For now, Disneyland’s website just says that Disneyland Hotel will open at a later date.
- When Disney World reopens, guests will not be able to use FastPasses. Additionally, dining reservations will not be available. Disneyland has not made any announcements yet with regard to FASTPASS and MaxPass and dining reservations, but it’s likely that it will follow the same policy and procedures at Disney World. But, nothing has been officially announced yet.
