Love, Guaranteed, Netflix’s latest rom-com, is now available to stream. But is it kid friendly? I’m answering these questions and more in my spoiler free parent movie review. With a TV-PG rating that includes some sexual innuendoes, here’s what parents need to know about Love, Guaranteed on Netflix.

Love, Guaranteed on Netflix - What Parents Need to Know
I love a good rom-com like The Kissing Booth 2, so when I found out about Love, Guaranteed on Netflix, I knew I wanted to watch it. It’s basically about a lawyer named Susan (played by Rachael Leigh Cook) who is hired by Nick (Damon Wayans, Jr.) to represent him in a lawsuit against a dating website. Why? Because the dating website guarantees….yep, you guessed it….love. As far as rom-coms go, this is one of the tamer ones that I’ve seen on Netflix, so much that I thought I was watching a Hallmark movie. Here’s what parents need to know, though, before making a decision if the movie is appropriate for younger kids.
It’s Rated TV-PG
The movie is rated TV-PG which means parental guidance is recommended. It does contain some material that parents might find inappropriate for younger children. For example, there are a few references to day drinking, vodka, and ambien. There is also one character that appears drunk during one of the scenes. But overall, the movie plays it safe. More about that below.
Violence
There isn’t any violence at all in the movie, other than a female slapping a male on his arm several times. He asks her why she keeps hitting him. Her response: “Because you like it.” No, no he doesn’t.

Sexually Suggestive Scenes
Here’s where the movie earns the PG rating. Phrases like “lumbersexual” are used. I don’t even know what that means, so it might go unnoticed by younger kids. A male character describes a female character as a “man eater” and another male tells another character “Maybe I’ll slide into your DMs later,” to which the character replies “that’s gross.” There isn’t any nudity, although there is a shirtless male and a few kissing scenes.
Language
This movie doesn’t contain a lot of profanity other than the sexual innuendoes listed above. I did catch one curse word when a character used the phrase “kicking ass.”
Overall Thoughts
Love, Guaranteed lacks originality. I felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie, not Netflix. For being a rom-com, it was very short on comedy. With a cast including Rachael Leigh Cook (from She’s All That) and Heather Graham (from License to Drive), I also expected more personality to the storyline. Instead, it was very formulaic. Still, if you have younger kids, this is a movie appropriate for tweens and older.

To save her small law firm, earnest lawyer Susan (Rachael Leigh Cook) takes a high-paying case from Nick (Damon Wayans Jr.), a charming new client who wants to sue a dating website that guarantees love. But as the case heats up, so do Susan and Nick’s feelings for each other.
Sounds like an enjoyable movie. I will be watching it.
