The Nutcracker Ballet in Tucson

If you’re looking for something magical to experience in Tucson, Arizona during the holiday season, you’ll want to consider attending The Nutcracker Ballet in Tucson, performed by Ballet Tucson! The dancers do an excellent job of bringing The Nutcracker to life and it ranks up there as one of my favorite performances. I am receiving two complimentary tickets from Ballet Tucson in exchange for sharing information about its annual Nutcracker performance. However, as always, all opinions are my own. I’ve been a fan of The Nutcracker ever since I was a little girl. Keep reading for more information about Ballet Tucson’s performance of The Nutcracker, including dates and times for 2019!

The Nutcracker Ballet in Tucson

The Nutcracker is a ballet that originated in 1892. It has taken on a life of its own, performed by different ballet companies all over the world. Tucsonans can also experience the Nutcracker Ballet, thanks to local companies like Ballet Tucson.

Ballet Tucson’s performance of The Nutcracker is a special treat for those of us who live in Tucson or its surrounding areas. I’ve seen The Nutcracker performed by ballet companies in Phoenix and San Francisco, and Ballet Tucson definitely ranks up there as one of my favorite ballet companies. I’ve seen it two years in a row now, and it’s become an annual tradition for me and my husband. The performers are all extremely graceful, as they dance to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. Also, the core of The Nutcracker remains the same over the years, but the performances are slightly different from year to year.

One of my favorite parts of the Nutcracker is the Land of Snow. Photo provided by Ballet Tucson.

Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Snow Queen, and the Nutcracker all come to life on stage. The costumes are absolutely beautiful. And the sets range from “snow” falling during the Land of Snow to whimsical during the Kingdom of the Sweets. One of my favorite aspects of The Nutcracker is that children also get to play part in the performances. If you love performing arts, you’ll definitely want to see it.
