The Sleepover on Netflix: Interviews with the Cast

What happens when a family find outs that one of their own is a former thief in the witness protection program? Find out in The Sleepover on Netflix, which is available for streaming beginning August 21, 2020!  In the meantime, keep reading to find out firsthand, from the cast, what it was like filming this family friendly adventure comedy!

The Sleepover on Netflix:  Interviews With the Cast

The Sleepover is the latest family friendly movie to be released on Netflix.  I haven’t been shy in the past writing about how much I love Netflix.  As a result, I was thrilled when my son and I received an invite to participate in virtual roundtable interviews with the talent behind The Sleepover.

My son and I enjoyed interviewing the cast in The Sleepover on Netflix!

Interviews with Sadie Stanley, Malin Åkerman, and Cree Cicchino

First, we interviewed Sadie Stanley (who plays Clancy), Malin Åkerman (who plays Sadie’s mom, Margot), and Cree Cicchino (who plays Sadie’s best friend, Mim).  Find out who did her own stunts, how they all identified with their characters, and what gadgets from the movie they would choose and why.

To listen to the complete interview, please play the audio below.  You’ll be able to hear my son’s questions at the 11:02 mark.  You’ll even be able to hear my son’s response when Malin Åkerman asks him what gadget he would choose from the film!

Interviews with Maxwell Simkins, Ken Marino and Lucas Jaye

For our second interview, we interviewed Maxwell Simkins (who plays Kevin), Ken Marino (who plays Sadie and Kevin’s dad, Ron), and Lucas Jaye (who plays Kevin’s best friend Lewis).  Maxwell and Ken had us in stitches throughout the interview.  For example, Maxwell said that both he and Ken did a lot of improv which actually made it into the movie!  Find out what they had to say about the CGI used in the movie as well as which one of them helped choreograph a dance scene.

To listen to the complete interview, please play the audio below.  You’ll be able to hear my son’s questions at the 12:02 mark.

About The Sleepover on Netflix

In this family adventure-comedy, Clancy (Sadie Stanley) and her kid brother Kevin (Maxwell Simkins) discover that their seemingly normal stay-at-home mom Margot (Malin Åkerman) is actually a former high-end thief in the witness protection program. When both their mom and dad (Ken Marino) are kidnapped and forced to pull one last job with an ex-flame of Margot’s (Joe Manganiello), the siblings must team up to rescue their parents over the course of one action-packed night that they’ll never forget. THE SLEEPOVER is directed by Trish Sie (Pitch Perfect 3).
