He’s All That, an original Netflix movie, is now available for streaming. A movie about high school students, is He’s All That appropriate for younger kids? I’m answering that question and more in my spoiler free He’s All That parents guide. With a TV-14 rating that includes a lot of language and some sexually suggestive dialogue, here’s what parents need to know about He’s All That on Netflix.

He’s All That on Netflix: A Parents Guide
He’s All That is the latest teen rom-com to be released on Netflix and it’s also a gender swap version of the 1999 film She’s All That (starring Rachel Leigh Cook and Freddie Prinze Jr.). This particular Netflix remake is about two teens who fall for each other after Padgett (Addison Rae), a social media influencer, makes a bet that she can transform social outcast Cameron (Tanner Buchanan) into a prom king. Here’s what parents need to know about the He’s All That age rating.
What is He’s All That Rated?
The movie is rated TV-14 which means that it contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age. For example, it’s usually suggestive dialogue, coarse language, intense violence, and/or intense sexual situations that determine a TV-14 rating. Here, there is a lot of profanity and some sexually suggestive dialogue, but more about that below.
Language
Characters say words like “bullsh*t, “f**k**g,” “a**hole,” “h*ll,” and “d**k.” As I previously wrote in my Black Widow parents guide, profanity doesn’t usually bother me, but I really thought it was excessive in this movie, and it didn’t really need to be. As a parent, that’s something you’ll want to keep in mind if you’re trying to decide if the movie is appropriate for your younger kids to watch.

Sexually Suggestive Dialogue/Sexual Content
There isn’t any nudity in He’s All That; however, there are a few scenes depicting male characters not wearing their shirts. And while there are a few scenes involving characters kissing, they aren’t too graphic.
However, there are scenes involving sexually suggestive dialogue. Characters refer to having sex and there’s also a scene implying that two of the characters are having sex.
Violence
There is some violence in the movie, although it’s not graphic like the violence shown (unlike Cursed and Shadow and Bone). One character is shown bullied and engages in some martial arts moves a la Cobra Kai, although definitely not as intense or graphic.
Overall Thoughts
This movie is mostly rated TV-14 due to profanity. As a parent, you’ll want want to use your discretion when deciding whether or not this movie is appropriate for your children (like tweens) to see.
