Must See Hollywood Studios Fireworks: Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular

Are you trying to decide which fireworks to see during a vacation to Walt Disney World?  Disney World is steadily adding attractions to its theme parks and there has been a lot of buzz surrounding recent additions to Animal Kingdom.  However, Hollywood Studios is also a force to be reckoned with, in large part due to Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land!  My family and I recently had the opportunity to experience the Hollywood Studios fireworks, including the Star Wars fireworks, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, and we loved it.  While we were guests of Disney Parks as part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, which included perks not included as part of general admission, all opinions are my own.

Must see Hollywood Studios fireworks include Star Wars fireworks called Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular.

Must See Hollywood Studios Fireworks

While I’m primarily focusing on the Star Wars fireworks, they are not the only fireworks and projection show at Hollywood Studios.  There are three different fireworks and/or projection shows that guests can see at Hollywood Studios in Disney World.  These include:  The Disney Movie Magic Show, Fantasmic, and Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular.  All three experiences are worth sticking around for.

Hollywood Studios fireworks include an amazing projection show called Disney Movie Magic.

The Disney Movie Magic Show at Hollywood Studios

Movie fans will especially want to see the Disney Movie Magic Show.  I first learned about it during the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.  I love movies, so I especially enjoyed seeing scenes from favorite movies like Mary Poppins, Indiana Jones, and Guardians of the Galaxy come to life thanks to special effects.

Mary Poppins has taken on a new meaning for those who have seen Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.

Star Wars Fireworks Best Viewing Area

Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks is included as part of general admission to Hollywood Studios.  If you decide to forego paying extra for reserved viewing (see below), you’ll want to make sure you line up early to get a good view.  The projection show portion of it takes place over the replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.  The Theatre used to be an attraction called The Great Movie Ride but now it’s Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.  To view the projection show and fireworks, you’ll want to face the theatre, and be in the center as much as possible.

Star Wars Fireworks Dessert Party

The Star Wars fireworks at Hollywood Studios include a projection show in addition to the fireworks.  However, fans of Star Wars may want to consider purchasing tickets to the Star Wars Fireworks Dessert Party, called the Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party.  My family and I love watching fireworks but we don’t enjoy lining up hours before the fireworks begin in order to get a good view.  So in the past, we have paid for firework experiences, like the Fantasmic Dining Package at Disneyland Park and the World of Color Dining Package at Disney California Adventure.  While those packages cost extra, they include reserved viewing of the fireworks which is worth it for us.  As guests of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, we were given the opportunity to view Star Wars Fireworks via the reserved viewing area at Hollywood Studios without the dessert party.

Fireworks at Hollywood Studios:  Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular 2020 Schedule

There are a couple of ways you can view the fireworks for Hollywood Studios schedule for 2020.  You can either click on the following link, or download the official Walt Disney World app.  However, keep in mind the Disney Movie Magic Show beforehand.  It’s definitely worth seeing!

Other Star Wars Experiences at Hollywood Studios

Fireworks aren’t the only things that guests can experience at Hollywood Studios.  Kids between 4-12 years old can also participate in the Jedi Training Academy, included with general admission!  My son had the opportunity to battle Darth Vader and Kylo Ren during a previous visit to Hollywood Studios, and I highly recommend it.  There are also meet and greets at Hollywood Studios, with favorite Star Wars characters like Chewbacca and BB8.  And then there’s the March of the First Order.  Click here for more Star Wars experiences available at Hollywood Studios!
