Places to Eat on Coronado Island: Crown Bistro

Are you looking for places to eat on Coronado Island? If so, Crown Bistro should be on your list of restaurants to try. My family and I ate at the Crown Bistro for breakfast during a recent trip to San Diego and we enjoyed it. Not only because the food is delicious, but also because the prices are very reasonable.

It’s okay to admit it. You want a waffle now. And so do I. Believe it or not, the above photo of the waffle was taken with my iPhone. The food really does look (and taste) that good.

I love Coronado Island. I also love going out to eat breakfast. In fact, if you gave me the option of either going out to eat dinner or breakfast, I’d probably pick breakfast. However, going out to eat breakfast is very rare for us, especially when traveling. Usually, we grab pastries when we are on the go since it’s quicker. And cheaper. But, during our last vacation to Coronado Island, we were in the mood for a sit down restaurant. We didn’t know about any of the restaurants in the area, so my husband turned to yelp.com for guidance. He found Crown Bistro. We decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be delicious and affordable. Which is why it’s on my list of places to eat on Coronado Island!

Crown Bistro is located on Coronado Island, which is in San Diego. The bistro itself is very charming and the menu has several options, including favorites such as waffles and french toast. I like that there is seating available both indoors and outdoors. It was a beautiful day outside, weather-wise, so we chose to sit outside on the patio. Be forewarned, though, parking is very limited so you may have to park alongside the street. We arrived early in the morning, so it wasn’t crowded, and we were able to find a parking stall. However, I can see where it could easily get crowded. If you are thinking about eating at Crown Bistro for breakfast, I’d suggest arriving there as early as possible.

Crown Bistro is kid friendly as well. My son loved the chocolate milk and the waffles. And I enjoyed the french toast. The food portions are just right - we finished our meals but didn’t feel like we over ate.

The chocolate milk was quickly consumed.

I have no doubt we will return to Coronado Island in the future. Which means we’ll also be returning to the Crown Bistro for breakfast 🙂

If you're planning a vacation to San Diego, California, and you are looking for restaurants to eat at on Coronado Island, the Crown Bistro not only has delicious food, but is also affordable for families.
